20026 - Week 16 |
||
|
Hello Custom House For those that are newly signed up to Met Engage, Welcome. Every week I will give you the latest updates on local Street Crime. I’ll tell you what is happening, where and what you can do to reduce the risk of becoming a victim yourself. Lets dive in…
Theft 16/04/26 – A Storage Locker was broken into on Young Road. Tools were taken. There are leads that CID are currently following. 18/04/26 – A wheelie bin was stolen in Hoskins Close.
Burglary 16-04/26 - It appears that a person has smashed the rear window of a multi occupied residence in Wilkinson Road. In doing our suspect has cut themselves quite badly and bled profusely. The would-be burglar has then looked for some first aid to stem the bleeding. They failed and then left without managing to steal anything. Forensics have attended and the bloods are currently with the labs. I am hopeful that we will have someone in handcuffs in the very near future.
Public Order A customer in Ladbrokes was abusive to staff and made threats to harm them. The staff did not wish to pursue a criminal prosecution. He as officially banned from Ladbrokes and a strong warning was given.
Criminal Damage 21/04/26 – Newham City Farm had their padlocks cut. Nothing was stolen. Sadly, there is no CCTV and no witnesses
Theft From a Person 17/04/26 – Cycle enabled phone snatch on Vic Dock Road junction with Freemasons. 16/04/26 – Cycle enabled phone snatch on Tollgate Road. Both snatches involved two males on one e-bike wearing balaclavas. No current leads on these individuals.
Theft of a Vehicle 22/04/26 – A Toyota Rav4 was stolen from Premier Inn Car Park. The vehicle was tracked and recovered. 22/04/26 – A Ford Transit Van was stolen from Ferndale Street. It is currently lost.
Theft of Vehicles 17/04/26 – A red Nissan Juke was stolen from Alnwick road. 20/04/26 – Another Nissan Juke was stolen from Devonshire Road. 21/04/26 – And a Toyota Prius stolen from Colman Road. Those that are paying attention with notice that there have been four Nissan Juke’s stolen in Custom House over the past two weeks. Trackers, CCTV, Wheel locks are all good ideas if you can obtain them.
Two cycle enabled snatches this week both were likely conducted by the same people. Please be aware of your surroundings when using your phone, especially when at transport hubs. Keep your phones in pockets or if you need to use your phone, angle yourself so the phone can’t be seen or swiped.
Until next week Be Good, Have Fun & Stay Safe
